It's about my car really
The nitty gritty:
1974 RS 2000
1 Previous owner (my mate Steve)
60,000 miles
Original colour was Diamond White
Here's the day I got her to my garages and got her started for the first time since 1985!

The Radiator was still full to the brim and you could still see the green tint to the Duckhams oil!

New battery, spark plugs and HT leads and she started on the 4th attempt (obviously I oiled the pistons and turned the crank by hand first!)

Here she is with most things stripped and ready for engine removal. I hired a hoist for the weekend to get the engine out but she came out in 10 minutes! You live and learn :)
)
Here she goes off to shot blast. Again you live and learn, I wont be using Mr. Grey face again. He fork lifted her off the trailer and bent up her window tops. Didn't return my bonnet stay or any bolts that held the bonnet and boot on. Little things on the face of it but crucial all the same.

Here she is back from shot and with no great surprises really. The underside (I dread to think how it turned her over) was as solid as the day she left Aveley.

New wing fitted (standard wing with the arch from the original wing grafted on, nerve wracking I can tell you!)

The car was covered in what can only be described as BITCHUMEN (emphasis on the BITCH!) from back panel to bulkhead. I spent the best part of two solid weeks scraping this stuff off. Having said that it was probably this stuff that stopped her rotting away in Steve's Mums garage for 11 years!

Here she is in the paint shop. This saga continues. I'll wait till it's resolved before I comment here.

Top tip, don't buy a cheap shot blast cabinet!
